Bildungsberatung Garantiefonds Hochschule remains in place

Shortly before Christmas, we received some good news: the federal program Bildungsberatung Garantiefonds Hochschule (GF-H) will be continued.

After the German government’s draft budget in the summer envisaged the elimination of funding for the GF-H educational guidance program and more or less overnight no new scholarship holders were allowed to be accepted, the federal government’s budget committee decided at the end of 2023 to provide the program with almost 17 million euros for 2024.

The federal program Bildungsberatung Garantiefonds Hochschule (GF-H) supports and finances young refugees, migrants and ethnic German repatriates who meet the requirements to prepare for, start and continue their university studies in Germany and thus makes an important contribution to combating the widely lamented shortage of skilled workers in Germany and to the integration of immigrants.
